"We'd booked a long weekend at Skipsea Sands — first holiday with our new puppy, a Labrador called Ralph. Got set up in the caravan, sorted the awning, everything unpacked. Decided to take Ralph for his first beach walk. I was in charge of the car key. Ralph was very excited about the beach. He jumped up — all puppy paws and enthusiasm — and knocked the key straight out of my hand into a rock pool. It fizzed and died instantly. Ian came out from Bridlington with a replacement key while Ralph and I sat on the sea wall feeling foolish. Ian even gave Ralph a biscuit."
