We've Got Answers
Everything you need to know about our car key and auto locksmith services — from pricing to process and everything in between.
General
What areas do you cover?+
We cover all of East Yorkshire including Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, Whitby, Driffield, Hornsea, Beverley, Market Weighton, Pocklington, and 100+ surrounding towns and villages. Our mobile auto locksmith service comes to you wherever you are — see our Service Areas page for the full list.
Are you available 24/7?+
Yes. We provide round-the-clock emergency auto locksmith services, 365 days a year including weekends and bank holidays. For non-emergency work like spare key creation, we also operate during standard business hours (Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:00) by appointment.
How quickly can you get to me?+
Average response times: Bridlington — under 20 minutes. Filey — under 25 minutes. Scarborough — under 30 minutes. Driffield — under 25 minutes. Other areas may vary, but we always give you an ETA when you call so you know exactly when to expect us.
Are you insured?+
Yes. We are fully insured for all auto locksmith work. Your vehicle is in safe hands, and all our work carries a satisfaction guarantee. We use professional-grade equipment and quality components on every job.
What should I do if I've lost my car keys?+
First, check your surroundings — keys may have fallen nearby. If they're truly lost, call us on 07706 303038 straight away. We'll come to your location with equipment to cut and programme a new key on-site. You'll need proof of ownership (V5C logbook or photo ID). Most jobs are completed within the hour. Read more on our key replacement and emergency locksmith pages.
Key Replacement
How long does car key replacement take?+
Most standard key replacements are completed within 30-60 minutes from our arrival at your location. Complex smart keys or specialist vehicles may take longer, but we'll give you a time estimate upfront so there are no surprises.
Do I need to go to a main dealer for a replacement key?+
No — that's a common myth. We come to you with all the equipment needed to cut and programme keys on-site, including transponder and smart keys. Dealerships often charge significantly more and require you to tow the vehicle to them — we save you both time and money with our mobile service.
What information do I need to provide for a key replacement?+
Just your vehicle make, model, and year to start. The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is helpful if you have it — it's on your dashboard or V5C logbook. We'll need proof of ownership (V5C or photo ID) before we cut a new key. If you don't have all of this to hand, call us anyway and we'll advise.
Can you replace keys for all car makes?+
We cover virtually all makes and models on UK roads — Ford, Vauxhall, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Land Rover, Hyundai, Kia, Volvo, Fiat, and many more. We carry keys and transponders for the most common vehicles. If yours is particularly rare, call us and we'll confirm availability.
My car key has a chip — can you still replace it?+
Yes — this is what we specialise in. We programme transponder chips and remote key fobs to work with your vehicle's immobiliser system on-site, usually for much less than a main dealer would charge. We cover standard transponders, rolling-code remotes, and proximity smart keys.
Can you make a key from the VIN number?+
In many cases, yes. We can look up your vehicle's key code using the VIN and manufacturer databases, then cut a new key to the factory specification. This is especially useful when you've lost all your keys. Some proof of ownership will be required.
Pricing & Payment
How much does a replacement car key cost in Bridlington?+
Keys start from £99 for standard metal keys, and we offer 50% off a second key. Transponder keys typically range from £120-£150, remote fobs from £150, and smart proximity keys from £180. The final price depends on your vehicle make/model, key type, and your location. We always quote before we start work — no hidden fees, no surprises. See our pricing page for full details.
Are there hidden fees or call-out charges?+
Never. The price we quote is the price you pay. No call-out fees on non-emergency jobs within our standard service area, no surprise charges, no VAT tricks. Even for emergency call-outs, we tell you the total cost before we dispatch.
What payment methods do you accept?+
We accept cash, bank transfer, and all major debit/credit cards including contactless and chip & PIN. Payment is taken once the work is completed to your satisfaction — you don't pay a penny until you're happy.
Is a spare car key really worth the cost?+
Absolutely. A spare key costs far less than an emergency call-out when you're stranded — plus you avoid the stress and inconvenience. We always recommend having at least one spare, which is why we offer 50% off your second key when you get one made with us.
Service Process
How does your mobile auto locksmith service work?+
Call us on 07706 303038 or fill in our online quote form. We'll give you a price and ETA over the phone. Our fully-equipped mobile workshop comes to your location — home, workplace, roadside, or caravan park. We complete the work on-site, test everything, and you drive away. Simple and stress-free.
Will you damage my car when unlocking it?+
No — never. We use professional, non-damaging entry techniques and specialist tools designed specifically for automotive lockouts. Your vehicle's paint, seals, weather stripping, and locking mechanisms won't be harmed. This is what sets a professional auto locksmith apart from amateur attempts.
What should I do while waiting for a locksmith?+
Find a safe place nearby — a café, shop, or your home if you're close. If you're on the roadside, stay well clear of traffic and behind a barrier if possible. Keep your phone switched on and we'll call when we're approaching, usually with an ETA update.
Can you cut and programme a key without the original?+
In most cases, yes. We can generate a new key from your vehicle's lock data, immobiliser system, or VIN. This is common for lost-all-keys situations and is one of our most frequently requested services.
Do you cover caravan parks and holiday sites?+
Yes — we regularly work at caravan parks across the East Yorkshire coast including all Flower of May sites, Haven (Thornwick Bay, Blue Dolphin, Primrose Valley, Reighton Sands), Parkdean (Barmston Beach, Cayton Bay, Skipsea Sands), and many independent parks. We understand holiday-site access procedures.
