Motorhomes Have Two Key Systems
Unlike a car, your motorhome has two sets of keys — and they're not the same. Understanding the difference is half the battle when you lose one.
Cab Key (Vehicle Key)
This is the key that starts the engine and locks the cab doors. It's a standard vehicle key for the base vehicle — exactly the same as a van key. It has a transponder chip, and on newer vehicles it's a remote flip key or proximity fob.

Habitation Door Key
This is the key for the living-area door — usually a simple mechanical key, sometimes a security key with a unique profile. It's completely separate from the cab key and doesn't have any electronics.

- • £35-£85 to cut a new key from the lock code

We Cover Every Base Vehicle
Your motorhome is built on a van chassis. We have the diagnostic equipment for all of them — dealer-level tools, not generic OBD scanners.
Fiat Ducato
Most common — ~40% of UK motorhomes. Transponder key (often remote flip). Also branded as Peugeot Boxer & Citroën Relay.
Peugeot Boxer
Same base vehicle as the Ducato. Remote fob or flip key depending on year. Widely used on coachbuilt motorhomes.
Ford Transit
Common on panel-van conversions. Tibbe key on older models (pre-2014), remote flip key on newer Transits.
Mercedes Sprinter
Premium motorhomes. Blade key or smart key depending on spec. Dealer programming costs are steep — we save you £200+.
Renault Master
Used on many mid-range coachbuilts. Key card on newer models, remote key on older ones.
VW Crafter
Same platform as the Sprinter. Remote flip key standard. Increasingly common on newer conversions.
Citroën Relay
Same vehicle as Ducato/Boxer. Remote key. Often badged as 'Relay Enterprise' on motorhome base.

Lost Motorhome Keys at a Campsite
You've parked up, unloaded, and realised the keys are gone. We come to the campsite — Haven, Parkdean, Flower of May, independent CL sites — and cut & programme a new key on-site. No tow truck, no ruined holiday.
Broken Habitation Door Key
The habitation door key is often separate from the cab key, and they wear faster than you'd think. We can cut a new hab key from the lock code, or extract a snapped one and cut fresh.
Stolen Motorhome Keys
Keys stolen from the cab while parked up? We delete all old keys from the immobiliser so they won't start the vehicle, then programme new ones. Same-day security restoration.
