"We were at Northorpe for the first time since the new owners took over — really impressed with the refurb. We'd pitched our tent, set up the camping kitchen, got the stove going for a brew. My partner went to the car for the milk and realised she'd dropped the keys somewhere between the tent and the car — a distance of about 30 metres, but it was getting dark. We searched with phone torches for ages. Found them eventually — hanging from a guy rope by the keyring. They'd bounced off the grass and looped perfectly onto the rope like some kind of impossible carnival game. Except the fob had been hanging in the damp evening air for two hours and had condensation inside. Wouldn't work. Ian came out, dried it out (it was too far gone), and cut us a new one. He appreciated the guy-rope story."
