"I've got a 2016 Ford Transit Custom — it's my livelihood, I'm a mobile welder. Had a job down at the harbour in Bridlington, welding some railings on a fishing boat. Parked up, got my gear out, and started working. It was a windy day — my jacket was flapping about so I took it off and wedged it between some lobster pots. Finished the job about three hours later, went to grab my jacket — and the van key had slipped out of the pocket and fallen through the slats in the pots, straight into a crate of lobsters. How much does a Ford key replacement cost?+
Ford keys start from £99 for a basic non-remote key. Tibbe keys (Fiesta, Focus, Transit pre-2012) are £120-£160 including cutting and programming. Remote flip keys cost £140-£190. Proximity smart keys for newer Fords range from £180-£250. All prices include mobile callout — we come to you, no extra charge.
Can you replace a lost Ford Tibbe key?+
Yes — Tibbe keys are our bread and butter. We have specialist Tibbe decoding and cutting equipment on the van. We can decode the key number from the door lock or ignition, cut a new Tibbe key, and programme the transponder to your Ford's PATS immobiliser — all on-site in under an hour.
How long does a Ford key replacement take?+
Most Ford keys are cut, programmed, and working within 30-60 minutes. We carry the common Ford key blanks and transponder chips (ID46, ID49, ID63, ID4D) so there's usually no waiting around for parts.
Do you programme Ford PATS immobiliser keys?+
Yes — we programme all PATS systems from PATS 1 (early 90s) through to PATS 4 and later coded-access systems. We use professional diagnostic tools that read the PATS security data and add new keys directly to the vehicle's ECU.
